A clear word about AI processing
When cloud AI features are enabled, assignment content is sent to the selected AI provider for processing. Optional citation checks send citation details to reference services. Use providers approved by your school. Encryption does not mean data is never processed by a service provider.
Permanent deletion applies to the selected records in the active GradeHero database. Existing backups and downloaded copies have separate retention and removal considerations.

How do I start my 14-day free trial?

Do I have to cancel my account to delete data?
No. You can delete individual papers, assignments, or classes and keep using your GradeHero account. The selected classroom records are permanently removed from our active database. Deleting data does not cancel or delete your account.
Does GradeHero assign the final grade?
No. GradeHero generates draft scores and feedback. You review the work, correct anything that needs attention, and explicitly approve every final grade. AI can make mistakes; your review is an essential part of the workflow.
Can I use my own rubric?
Yes. Type or import your rubric and define the criteria, performance levels, and instructions for the assignment. Rubric and grading settings are set before student work arrives.
Can students revise after receiving feedback?
Yes. You can release feedback for a revision, then review a new submission against the earlier guidance. GradeHero preserves the released feedback and revision history.
How do I get the results out?
Download individual feedback as PDF or Word, released PDFs as a ZIP, or class-level Word sheets. CSV exports keep draft scores separate from approved final grades.
What should I know before uploading student work?
Follow your school’s privacy and data policies and use only an approved AI provider. Cloud-based grading sends assignment context and student text to the selected provider. Evaluate the workflow with fictional work before using real student records.
